I will preface this by saying I have not done this job in a NG yet, but I have done several C900s, and the seats are pretty much the same. I didn't bother to remove the old heater pad, I just stuck the new one on right on top of the old one. The new pads come with peel & stick adhesive right on them. They are so thin that it makes no difference.
I think I agree with Gary G. - I will not use the Saab pads again, the carbon fibre pads are soo much superior and soo much cheaper. I have one that will be going in my C900CVT as soon as I find one of those "round tuits" that are so hard to come by. :-) My only concern is if it will work with the stock switch and wiring, need to do some experimenting.
