What's the best tires for a Viggen?
I'm ready to buy four new tires from Tirerack.
I'm in the SF Bay Area (rainy winters, no snow). I'm considering "Ultra High Performance Summer" or "Max Performance Summer" tires.
The best tires I've driven were Yokohama AVS Sport. No longer available, mediocre tread life (<20K miles), but great road grip.
I'm willing to accept mediocre tread life if I can get quiet tires that hang to the road and improve the car's handling.
Do you like:
BFGoodrich g-Force Sport or T/A KDW 2?
Bridgestone Potenza RE040?
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position?
Continental ContiSportContact?
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx?
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3?
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2?
Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2?
Pirelli PZero Nero or Pirelli PZero Rosso?
Yokohama S.drive?
Yokohama ADVAN Sport?
I've got a 2001 Viggen convertible (stock, no mods). I'm switching to 225/45-17 from 215/45-17.
On this car, I've had (courtesy of the previous owner):
Continental ContiExtremeContact
Kumho Ecsta 711 (long tread life, lousy road grip, just not appropriate for a Viggen)
I previously owned a 2000 Viggen convertible and drove it with (225/45-17):
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
Yokohama AVS Sport
Appreciating your recommendations and suggestions.
