The "J" bolts may be rusted and the 2 tank straps may need to be replaced ($40 each). Pull the plastic fuel lines out of the retainers so there will be slack when the tank is set on the ground. Once the tank is on the ground, you will need someone to hold it while you unscrew the locking ring on the tank. You have the option of replacing the pump/fuel level assembly ($250) or just the fuel pump ($110). Use exteme care when removing the plastic 90 degree fittings from the pump. If you break either one, it's a PITA to repair. If you break the retainer snaps, you can buy a metal reatainer for $5... Ron
