ACC Operations Question

I've been convinced I have a problem, but maybe it's typical.

First, it's cold in Iowa. 1994 NG900SE Turbo. This car rocks!

Whenever I run my ACC in Auto mode, the fan always seems to blow reletive to the temperature setting on the panel - low temp, low fan to high temp, higher fan speed.

I know there's relations between the cabin air, outside air, sun sensor, and probably the mixed air sensor... but it doesn't seem to be smart enough to even shift the diverter to anything but defroster vent.

Am I missing something here? I expect it to blow from wherever it should to make my cabin space the approximate temperature I set on the panel - obviusly changing its mind depending on assumed conditions, but my results are always the same.

I've ran diags check on the ACC and replaced my cabin air sensor on a hunch.

Can someone describe HOW THIS WORKS?
