Newbie to the 9-3 'vert -good stuff? Reliable as my 9k? Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Sun, 22 Mar 2009 17:20:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm possibly about to pull the trigger on a 9-3 convertible in the next few weeks. I was planning to wait until next fall/winter to maybe get a better deal, but the Spring bug has bitten and I want one now!
I'm thinking 9-3 from '99 to '01 or so, or newer depending on price. '99 has T5, is that better in terms of long-term engine health? Weren't there some issues with early T7s and sludging?
Not interested in an NG900 because of the electric top issues. Pretty sure I'd like a 5-speed unless someone tells me they are crappy. I know the autos are reliable.
Thanks all for any tips or advice. I'm very familiar with the 9000 and NG900, but not on the 9-3 'vert. FWIW, my 9000 will be garaged and become my late fall/winter car.
