This is a common problem that appears to have no resolution. If I were you I wouldn't bother with the tranny fluid or any of that. I've had this problem with my 2000 9-3 for almost a year now. Tried many things to fix it, and still no fix. Just had the engine rebuilt and a brand new clutch and that didn't fix it either. I guess it's the linkage, but that makes no sense unless the linkage is some cheap piece of junk like some other parts on the SAAB. The car otherwise shifts great. I think it's obviously some kinda mfg defect. PLEASE mail me and post back if you figure it out and I will do the same for you.
