Facts 1998 Saab 900SE 170K
I installed new ATE premiumone front rotors and ATE pads and rotated the tires this weekend. I had the rare opportunity today to get on a 65mph road today and noticed a bad shimmy in the front end. I watched it with the cruise on and pulling a grade it was smooth as glass but when you started down a grade and deceleration it would shake the steering wheel. I would think if it was tire balance it should do it all the time at this speed??? I also do not know if it did it before the brakes due to not getting on a 65mph road for a while.
About a year ago I had the opposite problem when I accelerated it would shake at high speed of 65-70mph. I replaced both drive shafts new with Empi from EEuroparts.com and the problem went away. I am looking for any feedback I can get on this one, stumped. The car has very new control arms and sanchion arm bushings as well as tie rod ends and alignment. Thank you for your help.
