Wow, you're closing in on 1/4 million miles! I had a 1997 900S with 180k and it would not run well on Bosch plugs but did much better on NGKs. My son's old 1996 S did just fine on Bosch so you just might just have a picky car.
Check the throttle sensor resistance with a voltmeter. I don't know what the accepted range is without looking at the WIS (workshop CD). The voltage should change smoothly when you move the throttle. You might be able to fix it with some tv tuner cleaner or intake safe sensor cleaner. The MAF can go bad too. My 1997 had a bad NPT temp sensor (which is on the intake behind the fuel rail) causing it think the engine was cold and run rough. The voltages for MAF and NPT are in the WIS as well. If you need these values I can look them up for you when I get home.
