96 SE Turbo Check List

I have been writing some messages related to my putting my 96 SE Turbo back on the road. As I mentioned, the reason that this has occurred is due to the demise of my trusted 93 900S. My friend is picking the 93 up for a tow to his Saab retirement farm and we are going to try starting the SET. The reason this SET has been off the road relates back to my 88 900S which was retired after at 270K when it was totaled after getting hit. It was raced for two years after this and only the wall at a local race track ended its career. I had the SET for a week and was driving it and the clutch cable went in the middle of rural Niagara County. Next the red DI coil went when it was parked in front of a friend's house. Finally, the water pump quit. This car has been nothing but problems. When I drive to central New York with it, I will not take the Interstate, fearing some problem. They say two heads are better than one. What I would like to do is tap the many heads of the world of Saab drivers to get a composite list of things I should check to be sure this won't happen and to have the confidence I had in the Classic 900. Thanks Bill
