Got a used 9-3 SE over the weekend, pic & questions… Posted by Savary [Email] (#1273) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Savary) on Tue, 8 Sep 2009 13:53:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It’s a 2000 9-3 SE with 100,000 miles. Got it for $3300.
One owner car, all records, dealer maintained, new battery.
It needs new tires, a transmission mount, and one front strut is leaking. I think I got a great deal on it. Its for the wife. She’s been driving her dad’s old Chevy Lumina. This will be a safe, fun car for her without breaking the bank.
Recent work done at about 80,000 miles:
-new belt and pulley
-new oil pressure switch
-timing chain & balance shaft chain
The dealer repair order says “repair timing chain and balance shaft chain – warranty”.
There wasn’t any parts listed and the owner was not charged.
Questions;
1) So when they fixed the chains, I assume they removed the oil pan right?
I shouldn’t have to drop it and check the oil pick up screen right?
Did they just remove the balance chain and roll in a new timing chain?
I wonder if the dealer will tell me if I called them.
2) Can I get a newer key/remote and get rid of that clunky separate remote fob?
I’m usually on the 9-5 board, so I’ll be over here now too.
Thanks
’02 9-5 Aero
