Another reason for the sound...?
There's a strange little piece of styrofoam glued into the very top of the fender. You can't reach in feel it unless you unfasten the plastic inner fender liner. It easily comes loose & falls out. The only "bad"(?) thing about that is by removing that little piece of soundproofing, you can actually hear the turbo (gasp!)
Any one of these replies just might be true, depending on how LOUD the sound actually is. We can't hear it from here.
