Wazee pulley and short belt modification

Saab 900 SE Turbo 2.0L
I just switched to the Wazee pulley and short belt (6PK2455) modification. Had a hard time getting the spacer into the pulley with the supplied bolt. Tried freezing the spacer but still would not fit. These spacers are machined to pretty tight tolerance. Had to eventually lined up the pulley, spacer, bolt on the engine (about 90 degrees to each other) and tighten it to force the spacer to fit. Wish the supplied bolt was longer. I stripped a few threads on the engine mount. So tried mounting it without the washer to allow the bolt to grip the mount a little more. After getting the spacer to wedge into the pulley a little more, I unbolt it, put in the washer, and install every thing together. Take some force though.
After installation and starting the engine to set the belt, I find the belt does not sit flush on the tensioner pulley, but about 1/8 of an inch away from the engine. Noticed that the Wazee pulley are larger than the stock idler pulley and (in combination w/ the shorter belt) wonder if this put more stress on the tensioner, causing it to sag and the belt misaligned. Anyone have this sort of problem?
I might just need to change the tensioner (odometer at 115K). Is there any visual wear indication on the tensioner to check?
Thanks.
