Car is in shop now, getting new exhaust, new brake pads and fluid, and an alignment. Cost is approximately $1100 - most is for the exhaust.

My mechanic recommended replacing the discs, as they have a very pronounced lip. But we agreed that they can be used a little longer. That shaved off a lot of money from the original estimate. I also have a slow leak in the radiator, which will have to be addressed in the near future.

The initial estimate was almost $2100 - which would literally total the car.
