No question in this post and sorry it's a bit long.
Just wanted to introduce myself and my new (to me) red 2000 9.3 2L 'vert. Just bought on the 23rd with 86,799 miles. I'm the third owner. like any ten-year-old car it has some items that need attetion.
We also had the 1st "issue" with it. Yesterday I took my wife for her 1st ride. A few miles into it, white smoke began pouring out from under the hood. Pulled over to find coolant sprayed all over the driver’s side of the engine bay and a puddle forming under. Limped the 5-6 miles home and, surprisingly the temp gauge stayed at the midpoint all the way. Was just starting to move up as I pulled into the garage.
My mechanic is about 15 miles away so I’ve loading four gallons of water into the trunk and hope to make it there for my appointment Thursday morning. We already have a full service planned including everything fron m the 60k service as I can;t be sure that was done. If all goes well, we’ll just add new hoses to the list of services to be sorted.
It is wicked cold up here in NH these days, so for this round I’m going to let the shop do the greasy work.
Meanwhile, I’ve pulled the perished visor, diagnosed the switch as the power mirror problem and pulled that. I’ve added those items to my salvage yard list along with the missing Jack handle and screwdriver, owner’s manual, medallion for the shifter and a couple of those large head plastic screws that hold the trunk lid liner in place. pulled the SID to send it off for refurbishing.
I also need to pick up another key from the dealer and have discovered the passenger side headlight wiper isn’t working and the driver’s side speaker is dead. So I’ll put those on my list for attention later.
That’s enough DIY for me for now.:)
this board has already been a great source of info, so thanks to you all!
Jim
