removing front wheel hub Posted by pete [Email] (#2000) [Profile/Gallery] (more from pete) on Wed, 30 Dec 2009 20:44:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just finished pressing in front bearings on my pair of new steering knuckles (as well as pressed in new bushings in the stanchion arm and replaced the carrier bearing on a new inner driver) for my '99 9-3. All went well after reading many postings here on what to press and not to press. I tried to press out the front wheel hubs from the old struts, but I couldn't figure out a way to support the old steering knuckle assembly to adequately support it in order to press out the wheel hub. What is the trick to do this? Do you have to remove the dust cover first? There are some vague posts "use 2x6's to support" and the like, but I'm not getting it. Any suggestions most welcome! Thanks!
