What I can say about tires and rim width is that while 225's are supposed to fit on 6" rims, individual tire manufacturers designate the true allowable rim widths. The best thing to do would be to find the detailed specifications of the specific tire you plan to mount. Honestly, in my opinion, putting a 225 on a 6.5" rim would be a squeeze and would often require low tire pressure to compensate. This would reduce dry traction, fuel economy and treadlife.
