Head Retorque Question

I have a small oil sweating from the drivers side front corner of my head gasket and I plan on installing new bolts and retorque them. I have read a lot of advice including Swedecar's 2/16/2005 posting on the subject. Here is my question.
Anders posting said to take a bolt out and torque it to 44 ft lbs and do all the bolts like this and then come back over them all with a 2nd round to 59 ft lbs and then the 3rd pass is 90 degrees.
Genuine Saabs info is to do one bold at a time loosen it then tighten to 44 ft lbs and then plus 90 degrees.
My question is no so much with the one bolt at a time vrs Ander's method because I think his stage one will keep the gasket from compromising but he is using 59lbs plus 90 degrees and Genuine Saab is 44 ft lbs plus 90 degrees and I find this very different from the point of clamping strength and bolt stress and stretch. The posting from Anders was quite old, is there any updated advice on the subject. I respect Ander's knowledge and he has personally saved me on Christmas Eve before on my wifes Saab 9-5 (RIP)before the total of being rear ended. Thanks in advance for the advice
1998 900SE turbo 180K Head gasket replaced at 104K with full rebuild from sludge and was surfaced. Work done by a Saab Mastertech.
