That's a good link. The only trouble is finding the RIGHT batteries!
Many threads about this over on the 9-5 board. I had to yank my siren (it's just a siren. The brains of the alarm are in TWICE.) from the car on a cold night in December because of the random wailing.
The problem getting batteries is the "CR17335" shown in the link is NOT the same battery as the commonly available "CR17335SA". Many have tried, and the SA batteries just need replacing after only a few months.
There were also some mentions of bad solder joints in the siren causing the issue, and that this has helped some.
Lastly, many of the same places that we send our SID and ACC modules out for repair will also refurbish the sirens.
I wonder, though, if it could just be put back with the battery jumper off. I just want mine to chirp with the remote when unlocking & locking! I really don't think anyone is looking to steal a 12 year old Saab!
