I've pulled the fuse to the SID to get it to shut off (and not drain the battery down). However, if I put it back in, it still stays on the next time I turn off the car.

As far as the radio, I haven't tried pulling the fuse on that. By "locks up," do you you mean that the radio asked for a code? That's not the issue I'm experiencing... the radio appears to be on (radio station shows up on the SID), but no sound comes from the speakers.
