The problem is that I live in a college town where there are no honest mechanics and the labor rates are all around $80/hr. Even if I find a place that will guarantee the work on a Saab, it's unlikely that I will save much, as the bulk of the cost is labor.

They also told me that there is some service that they are required to do with a headgasket job that costs $150-200, though I'm not sure what he said it was. If anyone happens to know what this might be and if it is really necessary that would be _great_ to know.
