There are only a few things that will affect engine rpms relative to car speed. Those are: a slipping clutch, a change of gear ratios in the transmission and different diameter tires (or very low air pressure). Did you happen to notice if there were many more miles on your car when you picked it up? I just wonder if a tech "borrowed" it for the evening and wore something out... Ron
