(I think Rich meant you can get a battery at The Shack.)

You can get the battery anywhere (Energizer, etc.). (I have a 2000 9-3 with the same key remote.) It is one of those disk shaped watch batteries, CR2032 size if I remember correctly. If you remove the small screw on the bottom of the remote unit, the two parts of the remote can be pulled apart. Inside you will see a small circuit card and the battery is held to the card by a small clip. You can easily remove the old battery, put in the new one, push the halves of the remote back together and replace the screw. It is very easy to do, although you will need a very small Phillip's head screwdriver.
