It's all the same, at least when you say it; I'm kind of like a puppy, you can call me whatever you want as long as you say it nice.
So what ended up being the final solution, did you have the cams backwards?
Make sure you get some fresh oil in that engine ASAP, all those failed starting attempts are sure to have left a fair amount of gasoline in the oil. You don't need to discard the oil you have, you just don't want to run it on new bearings; add it back a quart or so at a time, the gas will evaporate and get recycled by the PCV system.
