AMAZING $10 EXHAUST SYSTEM !

Here's a tip for anyone who's exhaust system is seems to need replacement:
Make sure you don't waste money replacing what's still good!
The original system on my 2000 Viggen has been growing louder and louder. A peek under the car showed me it was looking bad. Center can rusty, flex pipe flex joint ugly, and make noise at the connections. Was about to order a new system ($$$) when last week the noise became incredible.
Jacked the car up, slid under and found that the CLAMP joining the cat to the flex pipe had rotted off and the system had come apart just behind the cat. BUT HERE'S THE IMPORTANT NEWS-- a close look at the ends of the pipe (where they connect) showed they're very solid yet. For $10 I bought a new SAAB clamp and a tube of high temp goop. Sanded the rust off the connection points, clamped it together, sounds like new! Also, the flex section looks rotten but it's just the mesh covering. The accordian inside is still solid. And the middle can has rust spots, but isn't leaking yet. So... almost spend $500, but this $10 did the job.
