I bet that if you check pin 85 on A/C relay, you don't have a ground signal there when you have pushed A/C button?

When you are pushing the A/C button, you are merely, nicely asking the ICE unit that can you please ask the fuel ECU to turn on the ground the A/C relay.
But before that, ICE checks that the coolant temperature is at an allowed range and that the A/C high pressure switch is at an allowed range.
The signal then goes through the anti frost switch and yet another A/C pressure switch before the request reach the fuel computer for it to turn on the ground.

So understanding the logic and check all the different sensors and switches is crucial.

Nowadays you can get all the wiring diagrams you need on popular auction sites. It is just a few dollars to get the Saab WIS.
