My responses, though its for my Viggen, not HOT but pretty close:

1999 Viggen

ACC
Usually off, if on usually on ECON
Rural suburbs (Northern CT)
Generally mellow, with some aggressive thrown in for fun :)
50% City, 50% Highway
29-31mpg
Shell Premium

I think the biggest thing is having your ACC set to auto all the time. The impact of an a/c compressor on a 4 cylinder car is significant - I drop to about 27mpg when I'm using my A/C on the highway. I do generally baby the car, but I mix in some hard acceleration and I usually cruise around 70mph on the highway - when I'm REALLY trying, I've seen 35.5mpg

FWIW, when I first bought the car, the prev. owner was getting about 22mpg on the SID. All comes down to how you drive. My father gets about 32mpg in his 97 9k Aero - when my mom drives that car, she gets 18...
