I'm getting a check engine code of a bad signal from the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor. It has 140K miles, so I suppose it's entitled to go bad.

Questions:

- Is bank1/sensor1 the sensor that's right at the front/top of the exhaust pipe as you look under the front end?

- Any tips for parts? I plan to use an aftermarket unit and splice it in (tips on brands/models appreciated).

- I have an oxygen sensor socket which I hope fits this one... but are there any other removal tips? Do it cold? Do it hot? I don't have a large torch, so heating the fitting is not a good option for me.
