That's correct. Every tire design/manufacture is a compromise among several design specs:
1. weight loading
2. resistance to chucking its tread blocks at high speed
3. handling characteristics on dry road
4. handling characteristics in wet
5. handling characteristics in snow / ice
6. ride comfort
7. noise level
8. resistance to wear
9. fuel economy
etc. etc.
The speed rating is only one rating, not even the most important one so long as you don't drive beyond the rated speed. T rating means being able to hand speed up to 118mph. When was the last time you drove faster than that?
Typical strategies for achieving higher speed rating inludes:
1. harder sidewall, which is not necessary what you want in a car as hard riding as NG900/OG9-3
2. shallower treads. W- and Z- rated tires often have only 9/32" tread when brand new, compared to the typical H-rated tires in the 11/32" range. That means the higher speed tires have less tread life and worse performance in rain and especially snow. How, how often do you drive in rain or snow vs. how often do you drive at over 118mph? or how often do you drive on German Autobahn, really? in your own car as opposed a rental in Germany when on a trip.
We do not live in a linear world where everything is ranked neatly from "best" to "worst." Different tires are good at different things. You just need to pick out what's best for your needs.
