They should be able to look at the condition of the gear teeth and have a better idea. Otherwise, dropping the oil pan and seeing what is in there, if anything is good.
If they aren't pulling the engine to do it, changing the chain is a pain in the "trunk".
Just have them check the guides. I wouldn't worry about it unless there are signs of broken guides or gear teeth. Save the money to do it at 200k.
