I recently change my 96/900s transmission fluid and used Super Tech brand high mileage 10w-30. (Wal-mart). After 1000 mile I then dumped the 10w-30 ST Brand out and refilled with Redline MTF. I don't think the trans oil has ever been changed as the first change only yielded a little over a quart of fluid. Adding/refilling with the Super Tech brand high-mileage oil really cleaned the trans.. Right around the 1000 mile mark the oil started to shift a bit notchy. When I dumped the Super Tech 10w30 out, the stuff was dirtier than the old original fluid. Refilled with two quarts of redline MTL and it's been shifting very smoothly, even when it below 20f. It was cheaper to just buy the redline at the local auto parts store due to shipping cost would have been more online. I also switched out the clutch cable to an adjustable one for more precise clutch adjustment. If your close to Delaware, stop by and use the shop. Too cold outside.
