Wow this exact occurrence is plaguing my 1999 9-3. In the past it has stuck every few months but a simple push on it with my thumb has resolved the issue.
However, this past Friday a car pulled out in front of me sharply, causing me to hit my brakes, which in turn spilled a full cup of coffee onto my console (and my ignition). I have read on these boards that trying to squirt some lock-ease graphite based solution could potentially solve the issue, (i.e. release the spring) but does anyone else any advice on how to fix this???
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
