If you post on the forum for your car, you might get better responses.
Pieces of the belt could have gotten into and behind crank pulley and damaged the crankshaft seal.
Depending on what year, model and engine your car is and if the water pump bearings were bad, the water pump pulley could have eaten a hole in the timing cover.
