900SE rear bumper allignment

greetings,
i'm looking to purchase a '98 900SE convertible. The body is in really nice shape except for a scuff on the rear corner of the bumper which could be touched up. As i looked a little closer from a ways back, the scuffed side (drivers side) seems to be shifted up just a little higher than the passenger side. The carfax is clean, so i'm thinking it was either a parking lot bump or something minor - the dealer doesn't know. Would it be a big deal to remove the bumper cover and have the bumper alligned downward maybe 1/2" or so? I don't think it would take much.
thanks,
caroline s.
