Can you hear the motor engaging when your turn on/off the radio? If yes, then probably just need the mast (easy job). If not, check fuses and connections before you go crazy with a new motor. I don't hear about motors going bad too often, so the motor itself is probably OK. I haven't replaced a motor in my 9-3, but I pulled it out of my 9k once and it was really easy to do.
