This is related to an earlier question about replacing a damaged door on my 2001 9-3 convertible. After confirming with a Saab indy shop and a dealer service department the recommended replacement if I go with a used door is from model years 2000-2003. However, I was warned/told that I will need to have the window adjusted which could be 2-3 hours of labor. Does this sound right? The reason I was given is that I risk having wind noise and/or water leakage if the window is not properly aligned and adjusted.

The good news is that I found at least one local source for a door coming from a 2000 convertible that is in pretty good condition. However, it is black and I am holding out for one in silver which would either eliminate the need for painting, or at least give me some time to have this done.
