Yes! the signal for the actual O2 senor is separateset-up. Early O2 sensors were just a single wire and grounded through the exhaust/chassis connection. Then to get better continuity, manufacturers added a ground wire to the (2 wire) O2 sensor due to the sensor working with Milli-volts and this gave greater control. Then for even better emission, manufacturers added a preheater to the (4wire) sensor for better cold start emissions. I just talk with a friend that stopped by today and he also suggested to unplug the computer harness and reconnect to see if this give better connection, since the last time connection was made was at the factory. Check the harness continuity of the O2 heater ground from computer harness to the O2 plug when you disconnect the brain. The heater is two separate wires with one being 12 volt and the other ground. I can't say if the heater circuit has a timer to it. The last thing is just to tied the two ground wires, rear and front ground, together with a side splicer so that the plug/ground
is still wired into the harness and then run the spliced ground onto the battery or a clean ground point. Just wish I had a schematic to show how the computer is wired. Just remember to check which wire has the 12 volts. Most of the time the plug in connector for the O2 sensor has gold plating on it pins and the heater is just tin plated. (Most of the time)?
