Hey Nicholas. Yes, dont waste your time on the 90amp unit. It will strain to keep up with your vehicle power needs and burn up quicker. What unit is in there now? Most likely a 130amp. See previous post here, I suggest using the later 9-5 140amp unit (I use this unit on all NG900, OG9-3 and 9-5 4 cylinder models) Use only a Bosch/factory new or rebuilt unit. The aftermarket parts rebuild units are junk. Also, be sure to check the integrity of the B+ cable where it bolts to alt charge lug. They tend to heat up and melt, if so replace as well.
