Things under the hood actually get hotter for a few minutes after you shut off the engine. The NSS might only act up at the high end of the the scale. You could also have a bad ignition switch.
You can jump the wires at the NSS/range switch connector behind the battery to test it. Scotchlock pins 6 and 10 together and that by-passes the NSS. Be careful because the car will start in gear. Not that anybody actually trys to shift before starting a car, but I had to mention it.
If the by-pass solves the starting problem, then get ready to buy a new switch because eventually it will start setting a P0705 code and putting the gearbox into limp mode.
