I've been using the same TB that I bought the car with (had 50k on it then, has 162k now), and I've had some issues in that time, pretty much same as you. I've actually come down to the conclusion that the resistor tracks inside the TB become dirty, which throws the TB sensor off. I've taken it apart myself and cleaned the tracks, which helps, but that's a long process. I've since drilled a small hole in the TB on the top so I can spray no-residue electrical contact cleaner in there and work the TB to wipe/clean the carbon off the tracks. This seems to work very well whenever I start getting random engine codes.
Lately on hot starts, I'll sporadically get an engine code, which may or may not trip the limp home mode. I can generally just keep driving and the code will clear itself (at least the light will extinguish itself; the code is probably still there, I haven't checked yet).
I wouldn't mind getting a rebuilt TB from BBA, but I don't wanna spend the $ yet.
Good luck!
Seth
