I don't myself, but that's because I'm super careful. I even don't hit it on the way up my steep driveway (alway go in on an angle...start almost perpendicular to the driveway).

If you find it impractical, which it sounds like you do, then you can change to the SE bumper. Be aware though, that there are many other parts that differ in both setups (for example the lower splash shields).

I'm not sure on which other parts, but I know it's been done for sure.
