See my post above on "buying" threads. Check all the usual stuff, then...
Operate the top at least twice up and down and see that it works properly. Lok for serious wear spots in the top. Look for leaks of hydraulic fluid in front of the rear wheels. Check A/C, clutch. Look for vibration on the road and especially under moderate to heavy acceleration up hills at highway speeds. If it has a lot of miles and you're in a Winter salt area, look for rust around the rear shock upper mount(check with a screwdriver and push hard). Look for smooth acceleration with no flat spots, etc.
Look for PCV update #6. If it isn't there, or hasn't been on there a long time, I'd drop the pan and check for sludge. If fact, since a sludge check/clean is the first thing you should do with any used 9.3 of this vintage after you buy it, I would suggest paying someone to drop the pan, clean the pickup, and change the o-rings on the pickup tube and delivery tube. It will cost you about $300 but it you're actually buying the car you need to do it anyway, so I'd just pay for it before purchase just in case. Be there to see the pan & pickup and take photos if it's anything other than pristine so we can comment.
Most anything is fixable, but sludge is a no-buy sign if it's serious. With Saabs, some problems cost more to fix so you want to get a price adjustment if it's one of the pricey problems.
