Head Gasket Leak

Hey Everyone,
I have 1999 9-3 convertible, auto transmission, 98,000 miles.
A few weeks ago my radiator sprung a pretty big leak while I was driving. I was in a parking lot, so I was able to shut the engine off quickly and the car never overheated.
I had the car towed to my indy who replaced the radiator and did a block test to see if combustion gasses were getting into the cooling system. He said that the first time he ran the test with the engine cold no combustion gasses were detected, but after he drove the car around for a while and ran the test again, he detected a low level of combustion gasses.
He said that I had a very slight head gasket leak and would need to replace the gasket within a year or so.
I've searched the forums here a lot for head gasket issues, and I'm wondering if this issue could be solved by retorquing the head bolts. It seems like retorquing has mainly solved external oil or coolant leaks, so I'm not sure if I would benefit from it in this situation. Any thoughts on this? Should I just go ahead and have the headgasket replaced?
