9-3, right? The "Service Theft Alarm" message means that there's an error detected in the siren unit that's under the hood someplace (on a 9-5, it's behind the left front plastic fender liner, probably a similar location for the 9-3). The siren has some circuits, the actual "siren" that also creates your remote door opening and locking "chirps", and some batteries. The actual alarm "system" is contained in the TWICE unit under the left front seat.
When the message comes up, the siren needs to be "serviced", which is car-speak for "replaced". Replacements cost over $300 US. Alternately, you can have the unit rebuilt for a lot less money from one of the site advertisers.
Eventually, if you don't replace or rebuild it, the siren's internal parts degrade, and you will have a siren that goes off whenever it wants to, and cannot be stopped. This is NOT the TWICE triggering it, but the bad components break down and allow the siren to go off.
Often, folks will disconnect or remove the siren. This leaves them with no chirps for the locks, and also there may still be the "service Theft Alarm" message. They then take the car to a mechanic, and have them, using Tech 2, shut off the service message, and also tell the car that it does not have an alarm. This re-routs the door opening noises to the car's horn.
