A couple minor clarifications:

"Do you know yet if you are able to remove the crankshaft sprocket bolt? That bolt is torqued to hell and back and without the counter holding bar bolted to sprocket I don't think you will get the bolt out."

I have manual transmission, so I am planning to put in reverse, chock wheels and use breaker bar. Do you think it is safe?
Or, alternatively, I can try to use starter with breaker bar on. (That is what I read on Saturn forums)

Could you give a rough idea about the size of socket for the crank and cam shaft seals? I am going to get a whole range of them, but an initial approximation would be nice. Do not want to run to auto parts store with car half disassembled.



"When belt and sprockets are removed, you remove the rear timing cover to reach the thermostat and use a Dremel to CAREFULLY split the thermostat housing around the tube and then break off a piece for easy removal. That way you don't have to extract that troublesome bypass tube fully."

It is silly question, but would I be able to fit thermostat back this way or do I have to remove intake manifold?
