I smoothed the transition from the long tube from the turbo to the throttle body inlet. When I took a close look, not only were you correct about the squared off edges, but the rubber that held them together was allowing them to not align.
I smoothed it out as well as the throttle body inlet, whatever it's called. It's the piece that is sealed into the throttle body with an Oring.
I didn't smooth it out as much as I could have. I used a file, 80 grit sandpaper and then 0000 steel wool.
The difference is great. The car just PULLS more effortlessly at all times. It's like the difference of a warm day vs a cold day. It's been a month since I did it so I've had time to see that my gas mileage has gone up too.
