Thank you Rob. I appreciate the opportunity to learn from your experience. I did some work on a Ford Festiva I bought in 1991. Very noisy car. I believe I used the B-Quiet product. It helped a lot.
I have most of the interior out and will soon remove the headliner, new fabric needed.
For the past several years I've been driving a 95 900S my wife bought new before our marriage, nine years ago. We hit a deer about 6 years ago and she did not want the car after that. I've come to like the car. Runs well and easy to repair. Recently took the engine out to refresh accessories and do a head job and of course timing chains. Much quieter now. But that's not the 900 I'm looking to sound proof. A college student at OSU recently left a 1998 900S at a shop with a bad fuel pump. $300.00 for a car with no rust and $87.00 for a fuel pump and the car is running great, except for needing a new suspension. The tail lights leaking into the trunk have caused me to remove much of the interior so I'm thinking sound proofing is in order. I find the 98 runs better than the 95. The transmission seems better on the 98. I also wonder if Saab improved the computer as engine performance seems better.
