So, I finally checked out a 98 900 Talladega to see if a NG 900 would be a car that I could use for daily commuting. The engine sounded fine, but the car certainly had an issue with a leaky rear hatch.
However, I decided to at least take it for a test drive, but could not believe the lack of room to move my feet to work the peddles. I actually gave up at the end of the driveway and backed her back in. Granted, I do have some serious clod-hoppers (size 13), but I never had any probs in a c900 or my Jetta. Between the dash and the carpeting I was constantly getting caught up on something to the point that it was hard to work the clutch.
So, to my question: are the 900s/9-3s of the generation known for having little room down there or was there just something wrong with this car (e.g. Floor pan damage from being high centered sometime, rust causing swelling, ... Etc.).
Please advise.
Thanks,
Barry
