Hello everybody,

Working on my track car, engine out and on a stand.

Anyone know what the part is that the red arrow is pointing to? It's on the firewall side of the engine, between the starter and alternator. I just want to make sure it wasn't important. from the looks of it, it doesn't seem to have any function unless the part that filled that roll snapped off.

Ideas? The engine did not get knocked around as it was being pulled, so I assume it was that way when it was in the car. Weird.
