on our since-departed 9000 we had the tranny cooler in the radiator die and the coolant and ATF were well mixed. ATF was floating on top of the coolant in the reservoir.

We put in a new radiator and tranny cooler and drained all the coolant and tranny fluid. Ran the car and triple flushed the ATF. Car and tranny were still fine when we sold it three years later, although the tranny was then needing governor seals. Shifted fine otherwise.

So with a triple or quadruple flush of ATF you may be OK.
