Coolant leak - radiator or water pump? Posted by NCCaniac [Email] (#352) [Profile/Gallery] (more from NCCaniac) on Tue, 8 May 2012 19:19:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
When I got home from work today and parked my 9-3 in the garage, I got out and heard what sounded like water dripping on the garage floor. I had been running the A/C but this sounded like more than just the water trickle from the A/C.
Sure enough, there was a good sized puddle of coolant under the car with a continuous trickle off of the shielding (?) that extends back from the front bumper under the radiator. The stream was a little past center toward the driver side....but it was obviously running from somewhere else and just dripping to the ground there.
I have read here that when the water pump goes, it seems to drip on the passenger side. Could this still be the water pump or could my radiator have sprung a leak? My 9-3 was recently serviced (general service) at 190,000 miles.
